Understory

Beneath the canopy, where light softens and time slows,
star jasmine unfurls in secret.

Sandalwood and cedar root the air in warmth,
while oakmoss clings to memory like moss to bark—
ancient, green, and grounding.

Understory is the scent of the in-between—
where bloom meets bark,
and breath carries the hush of something sacred,
just beneath the surface.
